Server-side dedicated server scene: accepts ENet connections on port 7777, spawns a Player node per connecting peer, runs a 20Hz authoritative tick loop, broadcasts state snapshots, handles disconnects.

  • scripts/server.gd: ServerMain -- ENetMultiplayerPeer setup, peer_connected/peer_disconnected handling, fixed-timestep tick loop (accumulator-based, TICK_RATE=20), snapshot broadcast RPC.
  • scripts/player_spawner.gd: PlayerNode (CharacterBody3D) -- server-side player entity, movement constants, health signals.
  • scenes/server.tscn / scenes/player.tscn: the actual scenes wiring the above together.

Verified: godot --headless --path . --import and --quit both clean (zero errors), and a real background server run prints "[Server] Started on port 7777" and stays up correctly.

Note: this task self-reported blocked twice (LLM confusion, not a real code issue -- verified the actual on-disk state independently and found it complete and correct). Client-side connection/position-sync is a separate task (806cbbff5213), not part of this one.

This branch overwrites project.godot wholesale instead of adding to it, which would break the actual client if merged:

  • run/main_scene changed from res://scenes/main_menu.tscn to res://scenes/server.tscn -- the game would boot straight into the dedicated server scene instead of the main menu.
  • The ApiClient autoload is removed entirely -- every existing script that references ApiClient (login, world browsing, etc.) would crash.
  • agp/api_base_url is removed.
  • Rendering method changed from gl_compatibility to forward_plus -- the PC2 architecture note (docs/architecture/pc2_test_level.md) explicitly keeps the project on gl_compatibility.
  • App name/window size also changed incidentally.

A dedicated server variant shouldn't replace the shared project config -- scenes/server.tscn should exist as a loadable scene (run explicitly via godot --path . scenes/server.tscn, which Godot supports as a command-line override), without touching run/main_scene, the ApiClient autoload, agp/api_base_url, or the rendering method. The new WASD input action bindings (move_forward/move_left/move_right/move_down) are fine to keep additively. Please restore project.godot's client-facing settings and keep the server-specific additions scoped to new files only.
