User feedback from playtesting (2026-08-20): once on the Register form, there is no way back to Login -- the ModeToggle (CheckButton) inside AuthPanel is confusing and clicking it does not visibly get the user back to Login mode. Remove ModeToggle entirely. Instead, make the existing AuthButtonsRow Login/Register buttons directly set the panel's mode whenever clicked (including switching FROM Register TO Login and vice versa while the panel is already open), rather than relying on an internal toggle control the user has to also operate correctly.
Touches: scripts/main_menu.gd (_on_login_button_pressed, _on_register_button_pressed, _update_auth_mode_ui, remove _mode_toggle references) and scenes/main_menu.tscn (remove the ModeToggle node and its signal connection).
